Dr. Al-Akiti is the Kuwait Fellow in Islamic Studies at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, UK. He is also the Islamic Centre Lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oxford and is a Fellow of Worcester College, Oxford. He is the first Malay to be appointed to such a position in the university. Dr. Al-Akiti is also the Assistant Editor of the Journal of Islamic Studies

Dr. Al-Akiti trained as a theologian and philologist in both the Islamic and Western traditions. Educated originally by scholars of the Muslim world, he subsequently received a First Class degree in Scholastic Philosophy and History of Science from the Queen’s University of Belfast, where he was awarded various scholarships to read for his Masters degree and then DPhil in Medieval Arabic Thought as a Clarendon Scholar in 2008.

His book *Defending the Transgressed by Censuring the Reckless against the Killing of Civilians* (2005) first appeared as an online response to the London bombings in 2005, and gained huge popularity.

Dr. Afifi al-Akiti has been listed in the 500 Most Influential Muslims, since 2010. In 2011, he was conferred the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP), the Malaysian equivalent to the British CBE. In 2012, he was the sole recipient of the Darjah Dato' Paduka Cura Si-Manja Kini (DPCM) in the Sultan of Perak Birthday Honours List, gaining the Malaysian title of ‘Dato'.

Asma Afsaruddin is a professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at Indiana University, Bloomington,. She specializes in the religious and political thought of Islam, Quran and hadith, Islamic intellectual history, and gender.

In addition to numerous articles, her books include *Contemporary Issues in Islam* (2015); *Striving in the Path of God: Jihad and Martyrdom in Islamic Thought and Praxis *(2013); *Islam, the State and Political Authority: Medieval Issues and Modern Concerns* (2011); and *The First Muslims: History and Memory *(2008).

Dr. Afsaruddin is a member of the academic council of Georgetown's Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding and of the American Academy of Liberal Education's board of trustees. She has received research funding from the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation and Carnegie Corporation of New York, which named her a Carnegie Scholar in 2005. Dr. Afsaruddin earned her Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University and previously taught at the University of Notre Dame and Harvard University.

Dalia Mogahed is a community researcher Pollster and research analyst, author, and advisor based in the U.S. She is the Director of Research at the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, where she leads the organization’s pioneering research and thought leadership programs on American Muslims.

Dalia Mogahed is former Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, where she led the analysis of surveys of Muslim communities worldwide. With John L. Esposito, she co-authored the book Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think. President Barack Obama appointed Mogahed to the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in 2009. 

Dalia Mogahed was invited to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations about U.S. engagement with Muslim communities. Her 2016 TED talk was named one of the top TED talks that year. She is a frequent expert commentator in global media outlets and international forums. She is also the CEO of Mogahed Consulting.

Imam Omar Suleiman is a scholar, speaker, activist and writer based in the U.S. He is the founder and president of the think-tank, Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, and an adjunct professor of Islamic Studies in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program at Southern Methodist University. He is also the resident scholar at Valley Ranch Islamic Center and Co-Chair Emeritus of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square, a multi-faith coalition of religious leaders for peace and justice.

Imam Omar Suleiman is one of the creators of the internationally acclaimed ‘Inspiration Series’ – a series of short films that attempts to bring the sunnah of the Prophetﷺ to life. He was previously the imam of the Jefferson Muslim Association in New Orleans, where he also co-founded the East Jefferson Interfaith Clergy Association. He has been a strong advocate of community service, interfaith dialogue and social justice.

Imam Omar Suleiman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic law, a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, a Master’s Degree in Political History and is in the process of completing his PhD from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in Islamic Thought and Civilization.

Dr. Craig Considine is an award-winning professor and the best-selling author of *The Humanity of Muhammadﷺ - A Christian View* (2020). Dr. Considine is recognized as an authority in interfaith dialogue. He has written seven books and multiple articles for the field of Christian-Muslim relations and Islamic studies.

Dr. Considine's opinions appear regularly in leading news and media outlets around the world. Dr. Considine also has directed the critically acclaimed documentary film *Journey into America* (2009), which documents the Muslim experience in America. As an undergraduate student, Dr. Considine worked closely under Professor Akbar Ahmed, the Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies in the School of International Service, with whom he later partnered on the documentary.

Dr. Considine holds a PhD in sociology from Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, an MSc. in international relations from Royal Holloway, the University of London, and BA in international relations from American University in Washington, DC.

He is a practicing Roman Catholic of Irish, Italian, Scottish, and English descent and a native of Needham, Massachusetts.

Emad El-Din Shahin is the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies (CIS), Hamad bin Khalifa University, Qatar Foundation. Before joining CIS, he was the Hasib Sabbagh Distinguished Visiting Chair of Arabic and Islamic Studies and a visiting professor of Political Science at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Shahin holds a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a M.A. and BA from the American University in Cairo. He has taught in leading universities including Harvard, Notre Dame, George Washington, and Boston University. Dr. Shahin was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and public policy scholar at The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. 

He has authored, co-authored and co-edited six books and has more than fifty scholarly publications including journal articles, book chapters and encyclopedia entries. He is the editor-in-chief of *The Oxford Encyclopedia of Islam and Politics* and co-editor with John L. Esposito of *The Oxford Handbook of Islam and Politics; Key Islamic Political Thinkers* (Oxford University Press, 2018); and *Islam and Politics around the World* (Oxford University Press, 2018).

Stephen B. Young is the Global Executive Director of the Caux Round Table, an international network of experienced business leaders who advocate a principled approach to global capitalism. 

Dr. Young has published *Moral Capitalism*, a well-received book written as a guide for the Caux Round Table regarding the ethical and socially responsible Principles for Business. He was educated at the International School Bangkok, Harvard College (graduating Magna Cum Laud) and Harvard Law School (graduating Cum Laud).

Dr. Young was an Assistant Dean at the Harvard Law School and later Dean and Professor of Law at the Hamline University Law School. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Convention of Independent Financial Advisors in Geneva and is a founder and a member of the Board of Magni Global Assets, an investment management firm. He is a member of the US Advisory Council to the Papal Fondazione Centemisus Annus, established by Pope (now Saint) John Paul II as a lay organization to promote Catholic Social Teachings.

Dr. Young currently is an adjunct professor teaching corporate social responsibility at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Young has also taught at the University of Minnesota Law School, Vietnamese history for the College of Liberal Arts, University of Minnesota and Public Office as a Public Trust for Minnesota State University - Mankato. He has published articles on Chinese jurisprudence, the culture and politics of Vietnam and Thailand, legal education, law firm management, Native American law, the history of negligence, and the law of war. His most recent article on legal philosophy discusses the morality of American law. With Nguyen Ngoc Huy he wrote *The Tradition of Human Rights in China and Vietnam* (1990) and with Prof. Abdullah Al-Ahsan has edited a book on *Qur’anic Guidance for Good Governance* (2017). He has written numerous opinion articles for the Pioneer Press and the Minnesota Journal on Law and Politics and has been published in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Minneapolis StarTribune, and the Minneapolis St Paul Business Journal.
