Imam Omar Suleiman is a scholar, speaker, activist and writer based in the U.S. He is the founder and president of the think-tank, Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, and an adjunct professor of Islamic Studies in the Graduate Liberal Studies Program at Southern Methodist University. He is also the resident scholar at Valley Ranch Islamic Center and Co-Chair Emeritus of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square, a multi-faith coalition of religious leaders for peace and justice.

Imam Omar Suleiman is one of the creators of the internationally acclaimed ‘Inspiration Series’ – a series of short films that attempts to bring the sunnah of the Prophetﷺ to life. He was previously the imam of the Jefferson Muslim Association in New Orleans, where he also co-founded the East Jefferson Interfaith Clergy Association. He has been a strong advocate of community service, interfaith dialogue and social justice.

Imam Omar Suleiman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic law, a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, a Master’s Degree in Political History and is in the process of completing his PhD from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in Islamic Thought and Civilization.
